Insight
Artscape has long held a leading position in North America, with over 3,000 retail partners and a niche dominance in decorative window films. But under the surface, their Shopify setup was holding them back. Years of custom development had created a rigid architecture—one that limited scalability, made updates risky, and blocked access to Shopify’s native innovations. As Artscape looked toward expanding into new markets and modernizing their operations, the old tech stack stood in the way.
Idea
We partnered with Artscape to replace their legacy storefront with a lean, future-ready build. Our first step was to reduce technical debt—swapping custom-coded components for Shopify-native solutions like metaobjects and metafields. This created a more flexible backend while unlocking access to Shopify’s evolving ecosystem.
For their B2B operations, we implemented a tailored wholesale experience: net payment terms, customer-specific pricing, and specialized shipping flows. Together, these upgrades created a unified experience across DTC and B2B, all within a single platform and workflow.
Impact
Artscape now operates on a fast, scalable, and fully integrated Shopify stack. Technical maintenance is lighter, new features are easier to deploy, and internal teams have more control. Their new storefront supports both B2B and DTC, setting the foundation for expansion into additional channels and markets. What was once a blocker has become a springboard—ready to support Artscape’s next chapter of growth.
