Customer Story

Everest Outdoor

Everest is a Nordic outdoor brand founded in 1987, known for making durable and functional clothing for both tough weather and everyday life in the Nordic climate. From early on, the company built sustainability into the way it works, with a strong focus on transparent reporting and responsible production. And now, after more than 25 years of operating in Sweden and Finland, Everest is expanding internationally.

Global Shopify Plus Launch

A unified multi-market setup on Shopify Plus with localized catalogs, currencies, and translations built for scalable international expansion.

Native-First Commerce Architecture

A clean, ecosystem-aligned stack with metafields, metaobjects, and minimal custom code, designed for maintainability, speed, and low TCO.

ERP-Integrated iPaaS Backbone

Real-time synchronization between Shopify and Fortnox via Junipeer’s iPaaS layer, replacing brittle legacy integrations with a stable, modular flow.

Insight

Everest Outdoor operated on Intershop, a legacy commerce platform that limited speed, scalability, and operational agility, particularly challenging as the brand transitioned into an independent company separate from Stadium. Product data was managed in Bluestone PIM, creating a fragmented system landscape with high technical debt. The stack was built around technology rather than commerce, making global expansion costly, slow, and complex. Everest had already evaluated Shopify Plus, and together we defined a strategy to build an independent, future-proof, commerce-first architecture aligned with Shopify’s ecosystem.

Idea

We designed the solution around Shopify’s native ecosystem to ensure long-term scalability, performance, and maintainability. A premium Shopify theme was implemented as the storefront foundation, delivering built-in structured data, preloading, breadcrumbs, and strong mobile performance.

We established a clean, extensible data model in Shopify by migrating product data from Bluestone PIM and restructuring it using metafields and metaobjects at the product level. This created a flexible data layer.

On the backend, we transitioned ERP from IFS to Fortnox and replaced a hard-coded integration with an iPaaS layer. Junipeer acted as middleware between Shopify and Fortnox, enabling real-time synchronization of orders, inventory, and customer data.

We leveraged Shopify Flow for native automation to reduce manual work and improve reliability. For customer support and returns, we integrated Gorgias and Ingrid Returns, and to minimize return rates we implemented ecomID directly on the PDP.

Impact

Everest Outdoor successfully launched across multiple markets on Shopify Plus with localized currencies, translations, and catalogs, delivered within the agreed project timeline. The new architecture is commerce-first, modular, and free from vendor lock-in, built with close to zero custom code.

Google PageSpeed Insights now consistently scores above 90 across performance, best practices, SEO, and accessibility. Server-side tracking is fully implemented and streaming data into GA4, providing clear visibility into customer behavior and marketing performance.

The storefront is aligned with WCAG accessibility standards and supported by a compliant cookie management platform. With a robust iPaaS integration and an ecosystem-first foundation, Everest Outdoor is now positioned for scalable global growth, with Iggy continuing as strategic Shopify advisors post-launch.
